Lazy Sunday

Yesterday I went to look at tiles for the bathroom. I have no clue about stuff like this.
I picked a dark grey for the floor and white for the walls. Playing it safe. Since I need color, I will bring in color into the bathroom using towels and stuff like that.
I am now worried that the couch I have ordered and paid for is not gonna be comfortable and nice. I should have picked something else. I am so confused.

I saw my friend Jenny's apartment yesterday. It was nice!! Very clean, fresh and personal. Lots of pictures everywhere. I am gonna have that too, lots and lots of pictures!

Today I am just exhausted. This kind of project is too big for me to handle. I need help. I need to hire somebody to make all the decisions for me, somebody who knows what I want.  too bad that person doesn't exist.

No pics today!

Name by the door!

Yesterday the bathroom guy named Ulf took a look at the bathroom to give me a price estimate. My dad and I played around in the condo. It is weird to be there now, it is very dirty and trashy.

Dad testing the shower

This would make a nice bookshelf!

Paint and stuff

Yup, my name is now by the entrance!

Tomorrow: Brunch with my friend Jenny and then tile shopping!

Ps. I am really excited to have five followers! Thank you guys!

Stuff

I called Jimmy (painter) today (and yesterday...) to ask how things are going over there. He said that he had ripped down the ceiling in the living room.  SCARY! Hopefully it will look great when it's all done.

Tomorrow is the deadline for paint-picking. Aaaaaaah, I don't know! This is what I have decided now:

Bedroom: I will do everything possible to make the fire place stand out and the room to have an old fashion feel to it. I will pick a raspberry color on one of the walls and then creamy white on the other walls. Ceiling-bright white.

Livingroom: Sandy beige (very light).
I just can't make a decision here, so it will be beige. Hopefully I will be able to make the room really colorful with pillows and other stuff.

Hallway: Laura Ashely style wallpaper, white panels and some green walls. (Emily, YES GREEN!!!)

Bathroom where the toilet is: White tiles, navy blue and red. American colors! YEAH, I don't care what interior designers say, I AM GONNA HAVE ONE ROOM with the American
colors!

Bathroom: White tiles, darker floor. Haven't fully decided.

Kitchen: I will keep the chili red that the previous owner had. I love that color. Spicy!!!!

Today I also looked at my lovely stackable Starbucks cups. I LOVE THEM!!!!!!!!! Nina bought them for me. I can look at them for hours. (well, minutes). I love cozy cups! Not a lot of people get this obsession. I also have an obsession for stationary and journals.....but that's a different story.

Ready, Set, Ceiling!

Tomorrow the handy men will start ripping down the ceiling. I will go there after work to put some drinks in the fridge and some snacks and stuff for them to eat. I need the handy men to be full and happy when they work. I am thinking Coke, water, bananas, chips, candy and crackers. That should do it.

I have been considering back and forth, back and forth whether or not it's worth it to redo the ceilings.  It will cost a lot more money than just repainting them.  The conclusion is: I will hopefully get the money that I spend on all this stuff back when I sell the place. Plus, it will look great!

I have been told that Thursday is the absolute deadline for me to pick the colors.

My new favorite thing to do is to buy lots of decorating magazines at the gas station on the way home. I think I have the bedroom down!

Now what?

A couple of days have passed and I am trying to make decisions about paint and stuff. It is so hard. I am not a decision-making-kind-of-person. As for right now, I feel that white and beige are good colors for the walls.  But then again, I think I want some color.

I took my friend Ebba to the place today. It sure is brutal to climb all the stairs. Anyway, I think Ebba liked it all. We discussed the colors
a little bit. Maybe I will have some crazy wall paper in the hallway.

On the way out we ran into the lady from the condo-association. We said hi! She was on her way to a soccer game. (?)

It seems like they are gonna start painting on Wednesday, IN THREE DAYS. I am gonna have to make up my mind now. I hate this. I can't wait till Xmas when I can decorate my tree. THAT I'm good at! Interior decorating, I am not goo
d at.

When I came home we discussed the painting procedures while eating rolls and drinking coffee. (FIKA in Swedish) .

It's official!

Walked through the doors of the fancy real estate office. They asked if I wanted a latte. I said yes. I saw a big bowl of candy, another one with pens and a huge pile of decorating magazines. I thought to myself that I would steal some on the way out. The seller, Åsa, and the realtor guy were already there. I took my latte and we went upstairs. We signed some papers and then the realtor guy left for a while to call the bank and make the transfer. Åsa and I had lots to talk about, she is funny! I was a little bit scared that the bank would deny knowing me...as a funny prank or something. They didn't. Everything worked out. I was handed the keys. I had a great time there (it was nice to be away from work too!). I grabbed a lollipop, two pens and an Elle Interior on the way out. I love free stuff!

After work I met with my mom and sister to have a celebratory pick-nick in my new condo. My mom had brought a camping table, table cloth, cups, coffee, cinnamon buns and even soy milk for my lactose intolerant sister. It was very nice. Weird feeling to be in there, it's mine! ALL MINE!

I also had to meet with the president of the condo-association. She told me where to do laundry, what day we all meet for gingerbread cookies and glögg, how to turn off the water and so on. It was boooooring. She said I may join the garden crew of the building to help keep the garden pretty.  I pretended that I was a garden person, she was happy! (I will never help ....muuaahaaahaa)
Tomorrow Jimmy (the painter) will go to the place and check out the ceilings.

Big day tomorrow

Tomorrow at 10am I have a meeting with the realtor and the seller of the condo. The money transfer will take place and I will get the keys to my new home. It is weird.

I started this blog mostly for myself to see the progress of the place, but also for my fellow procrastinator friend Nina. She knows that sometimes one rather rests on the couch than paints the walls or picks out wall paper.

Pics will come tomorrow!
